Dear Friends,
It is with great sadness
that we inform you that we must reschedule
the Tourism, Progress and Peace conference
which was scheduled to take place in Jordan
on March 24-26. We have envisaged several
scenarios to keep the conference on schedule
but the manner in which the events in the
Middle East and North Africa are unfolding
makes it difficult at this point to attend
the conference.
On the other hand, we are
applauding the brave people who are standing
against the nonsense of "les follies des
grandeurs", their pettiness and those who
are supporting their despotic regimes.
We would like to say
thank you to those organizations who
sponsored the conference and those who
showed interest in sponsoring its
activities. We would like to thank those of
you who sent abstracts and paper for
presentation, and those who were coming to
listen and share their thoughts with the
audience. We would like to say thank you to
those lovely people who accepted our
invitation to be part of the scientific
committee, and to be our keynote speakers
and enlighten us with their scholarship,
expertise and experience.
And we say thank you to
the Dead Sea Hotel and Resort who accepted
to host us in their great venue and
facilities. Also thank you to our Jordanian
ground co-organizers, STI-Jordan, who were
so enthusiastic to welcome us in their
beautiful country. We wish to thank His
Excellency, Akel Biltaji for believing in
our efforts in Jordan.
Also thanks
goes to Group Res for their efforts in
reservations and registrations.
Finally, many thanks to
all of you who believed in us despite your
views on tourism and peace. We are trying to
find a more appropriate venue for this very
important and unique conference, and we
shall keep you informed. We do sincerely
apologies for any inconvenience that our
misfortune might have caused you.
Kind regards,
